Santa Monica Renovation

Lead Architectural Designer and Project Manager: Shadan Mirzaei

An interior renovation of a kitchen at a private residence in Santa Monica, designed to feel brighter and more open—without replacing the cabinets or expanding the original footprint. The client wanted a modernized space that still honored the character of the home. We embraced the existing wood ceiling beams as a key design element, integrating them into a natural, cohesive vision inspired by biophilic design. By incorporating soft natural greens and materials that create the illusion of spaciousness, the result is a warm, inviting, and therapeutic environment that connects subtly to nature while reflecting a contemporary aesthetic.
